Support the Camp and get some great kitchen items too!

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

Some of you may remember Rachel Smith. She deaned the Ladies retreat in 2007. Rachel likes a challenge and loves to help. When she read of the camps stewardship program she decided to try something really big with friend Lorri Kachinovas, but she needs your help.

Rachel Smith is using her seed money to host a Pampered Chef Fund Raiser Open House at Maple Avenue Christian Church from noon to 3pm on June 14. You can participate in this fund raiser in several ways. 1. Come to the open house on June 14 to try out some great kitchen gadgets and place an order. 2. Go on-line, check out all the latest items and recipes and place an order at her online store enter name Lamoine Christian Camp as the host. 3. Place an order at the camps open house on June 6. Many of the items will be on display and you can place your order while enjoying the camp open house. 4. Book your very own Pampered Chef catalog or home show.

This is a great way for people from many churches to help support the camp. Items will be delivered directly to your home. If you have questions on products, ordering or how you can help, call Rachel at 309-836-3220. Rachel asks, “please, tell your friends, collect orders from family and co-workers and pray, pray, pray. Our God is good, all the time.”

Turning $695 into $3503

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

So far, 139 seed money packets have been sent out, and $3,503 has been received in return.  So far, we have some great ideas:

One recipient is using their seed money to literally buy seeds for a garden, planning to sell the produce at a farmer’s market

One youth wants to get people to sponsor him in a pogostickathon

One lady is going to use the money for postage to invite people to a Pampered Chef party — 20% of all sales for this party will go to the camp.
